Oregon Small Groups of 2-50

Insurance companies are required to provide coverage on a guaranteed-issue basis regardless of health conditions.

They can only base rates on age, family makeup, and geographic location. They can only increase these rates yearly.

Federal HIPPA Groups of 2-50

If you meet both Oregon Small Group and HIPPA requirements, Oregon Small Group regulations take precedence.

Insurance companies are required to provide coverage on a guaranteed-issue basis regardless of health conditions.

They use age, family makeup, and geographic location as used for Oregon Small Groups, but they can also use other factors such as sex and type of industry for groups of 26-50.

Large Groups of 51 or More Employees

Insurance companies have a choice whether to offer you coverage or not and they have more flexibility in rating.

More plan designs are usually available and alternative funding options may also be available to you.
