Temporary medical insurance overage can be purchased for as few as 30
days or up to 12 months. A new policy can be purchased to extend the health
insurance coverage for a second term in most cases. Keep in mind that each
extension is a new policy and won't cover conditions treated by the previous
coverage. Coverage ends with the current term unless hospitalized or disabled.
You can send the full premium with the application or choose a convenient
monthly payment option. You can pay by check or a credit card.
Short Term Medical is designed to provide coverage for major hospital,
medical and surgical expenses incurred as a result of medically necessary
care for a covered illness or injury. Coverage is generally provided for
daily hospital room and board, miscellaneous hospital services, surgical
services, anesthesia services, in-hospital services, and out-of-hospital
care, subject to any deductibles or rate of payment provisions or other
limitations which may be set forth in the policy. Each plan has unique benefit
designs and it is recommended that you refer to company literature for a more
complete description of coverage.
