Protect Your Rights As You Shop for Medicare Products |
If
Medicare health plans seem complex and confusing, you are not
alone. We have to receive special training each year and be
certified in order to talk to you about some of the plans. In
light of this, we have attempted to make the information on
this site as clear and understandable as possible.
Premium rates are generally subject to an increase on a yearly
basis and they usually, but not always, increase on January
1st. Three factors can have an effect on your premiums: |
 |
Age:
As age increases, the insurance company plans on your
healthcare costs increasing.
|
| Medical
Costs: Costs for physicians, hospitals, and related
care have been increasing at a rapid pace. |
| Coverage:
Medicare covers a smaller portion of medical costs each
year, leaving the insurance companies to cover more. |
|
|
We
hate throwing money away or spending money on something we
don't get to enjoy the benefits of. Yet, people can unknowingly
do this when it comes to health insurance.
Premiums
for almost all Medicare products include a commission charge
to pay agents for selling and servicing these policies. You
pay this commission charge regardless of whether you buy directly
from the insurance company or from an independent agent.
If you purchase directly from the insurance company, you
give up your right to have an agent represent you and
help you solve problems that may develop.
