Preferred Choice 65 Plus is a Medicare Advantage Cost plan offered under a contract agreement between Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon and CMS. Anyone who resides in the service area and who has Medicare Parts A and B may apply during appropriate allowed enrollment periods.

It operates a lot like an HMO plan requiring selection of a Primary Care Physician (PCP) doctor and with referrals required for specialists visits. Unlike a Medicare Advantage HMO plan, you can go outside the network and still be covered by Medicare Part A and Part B. A separate stand-alone prescription drug card is required for prescription coverage.
