Colorado Health Insurance - Individual

You may qualify for the CoverColorado program or one of the several other State of Colorado financial assistance programs for health insurance designed to help meet the health care needs of Colorado residents.

Colorado Medicaid

Colorado Medicaid is public health insurance for families, children, pregnant women, persons who are blind. It is also designed for persons with disabilities and the elderly for Colorado residents. Family Medicaid and CHP+ are public health insurance programs for families, children and pregnant women. When you submit an application, you are applying for both Family Medicaid and CHP+. The program you qualify for depends upon family size, income and the age of the applicant.

Child Health Plan Plus

Colorado Check Up

CHP+ is health insurance coverage for low income children (18 years of age and younger) and pregnant women (19 years of age and older) who are Colorado residents. Coverage includes: Inpatient and outpatient hospital services, physician services, prescription drugs, dental for children and mental health care.

Assistance for indigent

Colorado Indigent Care Program (CICP)

The CICP distributes federal and State funds to partially compensate qualified health care providers for uncompensated costs associated with services rendered to the indigent population. Local hospitals and clinics enroll families into the CICP. To be eligible for discounted services under the program, applicants must meet both residency and income and asset requirements.

To qualify, applicants must have income and resources combined at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), and cannot be eligible for Medicaid or CHP+.

Family Planning Program

With than 60 locations throughout Colorado, over 50,000 women and men receive family planning services annually. Patient fees are determined by the patient's income and the ability to pay. This program also offers preventative health services.
